Leo Wadnizak Leo Michael Wadnizak November 10, 1948 – June 7, 2015 Leo Michael Wadnizak passed away on June 7, 2015 in Eugene, Oregon after a lengthy illness and hospitalization. Mike was born on November 10, 1948 in Eugene, Oregon to parents Leo E. Wadnizak and Mary (Schmitz) Wadnizak. Mike graduated from North Eugene High School in 1967. Mike served 2 years in the United States Marine Corps with a tour of duty in Vietnam where he was exposed to Agent Orange and upon his return received an honorable discharge. He then attended Lane Community College and received a certificate in refrigeration. He went on to work for BiMart for 14 years until his retirement. Mike is survived by his wife, Rosemary, his daughter Christina Wadnizak, stepsons Lael and Josh Salaets, stepdaughters Shelly Sorensen, Emma Brix, and 8 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Tony (Ginny) Wadnizak, sisters: Mary Drews, Kathie (Gary) States, Joan Cox, and Vickie and Pam Wadnizak, nieces: Dawn States (Steve Smith), Jill (Jeff) Hindman, Ginny Drews, Amy (Tyson) Lash, Rachel (Jamie) Simmons, and numerous great nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mike enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and his dogs: Ginger, Ace, Obleo, Rain, Hunter, Katie, and Chewy. He and Rosemary enjoyed traveling and gardening together. Mike also enjoyed woodworking, photography, watching mysteries on TV, listening to music, and going to the park and feeding the ducks. He enjoyed Christmas Eve at the Wadnizak’s and family dinners. Mike was surrounded by the love of his family and friends on his journey to heaven. His family would like to especially thank his caregivers and his friends Larry Veysey and Scott Palmer for their love and grace that was shown to Mike and his family during his final days. Mikey will be sorely missed by all.
