Margaret Thompson

Margaret passed away May 9, 2016, from ovarian cancer. She was born August 6, 1925, in Norton, VA, to Ervine and Margaret (Centers) Scott. She married Charles Thompson on October 22, 1943, in Akron, OH. Margaret graduated from high school in Akron, OH. She was very proud to have been a Rosie Riviter in Ohio during WWII. She was devoted to her family, and for most of her adult life was a caregiver for her special needs son. She and Charles were well known apple growers in the area, winning 5 blue ribbons at the county fair. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Charles. Survivors include her two daughters, Gale Underwood of Albany and Becky Thompson of Gresham; two sons, Greg of Leesburg, FL, and Timothy of Eugene; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren There will be a closed casket visitation on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Lane Memorial Funeral Home from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. and then concluding with a committal at Lane Memorial Gardens.
