Peggy S. Schifferer

September 12, 1963 — April 12, 2026

Peggy S. Schifferer (nee Schneider), 62, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

She was born on September 12, 1963, in Harvard, IL, to the late Harry and Shirley (Antonsen) Schneider, where she was raised and built the foundation of the life she cherished. Peggy was a devoted mother who raised her three children with love and strength, always putting her family first.

She spent many years working as a cook at Bopp’s, where she was known for her hard work and familiar presence. Outside of work, Peggy found joy in the simple things—especially a big fountain pop, trips to the casino, and playing the slots, where she always seemed to have a little extra luck on her side.

More than anything, Peggy loved her family. She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and togetherness. Her warmth, humor, and caring spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Peggy leaves behind two children, John Thelan and Ashley (Chris Youngblood) Schifferer; her daughter by heart, Reine Zech; six grandchildren, Emily (Justin) Hoppe, Sammantha (Jordon) Long, Maurissa (Dylan) Gregerson, Kayden Ulsaver, Ayden Thelan, and Skylar Youngblood; seven great-grandchildren, Penelope, Amelia, Aliana, Gracie, Sophia, Isabella, and Mylah, with one more on the way (Winona); two brothers, John and Harry Schneider; a sister, Wendy (Joe) Hadley; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Gary Schifferer Jr. and granddaughter, Harper Youngblood.

She will forever be “Rara,” a name filled with love, laughter, and a lifetime of cherished memories, held close in the hearts of her family always.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
