Dora Jane Padilla
In Loving Memory of Dora Jane Padilla (Gallegos)
With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Dora Jane Padilla, age 93 passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ. While we mourn her passing, we rejoice in the promise that she has heard the words every faithful believer longs to hear: "Well done, good and faithful servant.".
To know Dora was to experience grace. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen, valued, and loved. Her kindness was never reserved for a select few—it was freely given to family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers. She lived her faith not merely in words, but through quiet acts of compassion, steadfast encouragement, gentle forgiveness, and unwavering generosity.
Though she experienced hardship and adversity early in life, she refused to let those circumstances harden her heart. Instead, she allowed God to shape her into a tenacious spirited woman of deep compassion, unwavering resilience, and extraordinary grace. She loved others with remarkable empathy and pointed them toward the hope she found in Christ.
She reflected the heart of Christ in her patience, humility, and willingness to place the needs of others before her own. Her generosity was woven into the fabric of her everyday life. Her cooking was legendary among those who knew her. No one ever left her home empty-handed. Whether it was her home-made chili, home-cooked meal, leftovers, a thoughtful gift, or even just a jar of peanut butter from her pantry, she found joy in making sure everyone had something to take with them. Giving came naturally to her—it was one of the many ways she showed love, reflecting the grace and compassion of Christ in the ordinary moments of life.
Mom's sewing was one of the many ways she wrapped her love around us. With every stitch, she gave a piece of herself—her time, her talent, her patience, and her heart. Whether she was creating something beautiful, fixing something worn, or making something special just for us, she was reminding us that we mattered.
To others it may have looked like simple sewing, but to us it was love made visible. Those threads held more than fabric; they held memories, comfort, and the unmistakable feeling of being cared for by our mother.
She had a lifelong love of music, especially when it came from the voices of her grandchildren. Their songs filled her heart with joy and became some of her most treasured memories.
Above all else, she treasured her family. She celebrated their victories, carried their burdens, prayed faithfully for each of them, and created a home where unconditional love was abundant and everyone was welcome. Her legacy is not found only in the years she lived, but in the lives she shaped, the faith she inspired, and the countless memories she leaves behind.
The story of Mom and Dad wasn't one of a fairy tale—it was something far more meaningful. It was a story of two people who weathered life's storms, celebrated its blessings, and stood beside one another through changing seasons. They laughed together, leaned on each other in difficult times, and built a life rich with love, resilience, and memories that will live on in all of us. Their enduring partnership reminds us that true love is not the absence of hardship, but the willingness to walk through it together.
Our Mother; Mom never stopped praying for her children and grandchildren. Through every joy, every struggle, and every season of life, she faithfully carried us to God in prayer. Looking back, we can truly say that none of her prayers were ever wasted. They were one of the greatest expressions of her love for us. She had room in her heart for everyone and believed people were more than their worst mistakes. Mom believed everyone deserved love, grace, and the chance to be seen for who they truly were. That's the kind of love our Mom had—steady, forgiving, and always there, no matter what. We were incredibly lucky to be loved that way.
She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory, Includes her love of her life, husband Victor Padilla, children Paul Sanchez, Chon Dixon (Chuck Dixon), Robert Sanchez, (Terri Sanchez), Olga Sanchez, Patty Padilla-Zimmerman (Jeffrey Zimmerman) Pete-Nigel Padilla (Ronda Padilla), Kim Andersen (Kevin Andersen), Lupe Padilla (April Padilla) Molly Dalrymple (Steven Dalrymple), Annette Euresti, (37) grandchildren, (66) great-grandchildren, (17) great-great grandchildren, brother Leroy Gallegos (Vicky Gallegos) and best friend Ernie Garcia.
She will be lovingly reunited with her parents, Jose and Eloise Gallegos, and her beloved children, Danny Sanchez, Anita Sanchez-McAlevy, Alice Sanchez, Oscar Sanchez, her beloved brothers and sisters who preceded her in death. Their bond of love continues beyond this life, and she is now at peace in their presence.
As we honor her memory, we will remember her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, her quiet strength, unconditional love and the grace she extended so generously to everyone she encountered. We will strive to continue the example she set—to choose kindness over judgment, forgiveness over resentment, hope over fear, and unconditional love above all. We find comfort in the assurance that death is not the end for those who trust in Christ. Her faith has become sight, and she now rests in the eternal presence of her Savior, free from pain and surrounded by perfect peace.
John 14:6. Jesus states: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me".
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in the presence of her Lord.
A celebration of Dora’s life is being planned for a future date. We look forward to gathering with family and friends to honor her, celebrate the joy she brought into our lives, and share wonderful memories together.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Pathways Hospice in honor of our mother. Their compassionate care, kindness, and dedication meant so much to our family, and they did an amazing job meeting all of our mother's needs during her final days.
