Gloria Ann Conner
December 10, 1931 — May 24, 2026
Gloria Ann Conner, born December 10, 1931, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026. She was born in Port Huron, Michigan, to Arthur and Grace Rising. Gloria lived a life rooted in love, faith, family, and hospitality, and her presence brought warmth and comfort to all who knew her. Classy, graceful, and beautiful, she was a woman whose quiet strength and steady devotion left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert Conner, whom she affectionately called Bob. Gloria and Bob were united in marriage on March 10, 1951, beginning a beautiful love story that would carry them through a lifetime of shared adventures. Bob was a wandering soul, and together they built homes across five different states, seven different cities, and numerous houses. Yet wherever life led them, Gloria had a special gift for transforming every place into a true home. Along the way they made many dear friends, and Gloria was always welcoming and hospitable, opening her heart and home with kindness and generosity.
From their marriage came seven children, each of whom carries forward the legacy of love and family Gloria cherished so deeply:
Pamela Hernandez (Gabriel) of La Salle, Colorado; Robin Buettenback (Ace) of Mesa, Arizona; Patrice Carter (Ted) of Julesburg,
Colorado; Rebecca Saul (Chuck) of Berthoud, Colorado; Robert Conner Jr. (Karen) of Puerto Peñasco, Mexico; Daniel Conner (Mia) of Lexington, Kentucky; and Phillip Conner (Jeana) of Cortez, Colorado. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren, each of whom brought joy and meaning to her life.
Gloria had a knack for gardening, and her home was often filled with healthy plants. She was an expert at laundry and was known to scold her children if a freshly cleaned piece of clothing ever touched the ground. She loved music, and her beautiful voice often filled the house as she sang or whistled her favorite tunes while doing laundry, cooking, or tending to the daily work of caring for her family. She especially loved the early mornings and took joy in preparing breakfast, her favorite meal, for those she loved.
Gloria was a loyal and devoted wife who missed her Bob deeply after his falling asleep in death, and she often spoke with hope about seeing him again when they would be reunited in Paradise on earth. Exercising her faith in Jehovah God and in His promises found in the Bible was Gloria’s greatest joy and source of strength. She also delighted in shopping for bargains anywhere and everywhere, whether in a fine retail store or at a simple yard sale. Gloria’s life was a testimony to love, faith, beauty, and devotion. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, her friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. During the last few years of her life as dementia and cancer began affecting her everyday life, she was blessed to have a caretaker visit her every week and they developed a friendship that kept Gloria experiencing joy. The family is very grateful to Laura for helping “Mom” keep a positive outlook as she would often be heard saying “I just have to keep going”. Bob and Glorias children also look forward to the fulfillment of the Bibles promises when Jehovah and Christ Jesus will resurrect our loved ones sleeping in death to enjoy life how it was meant to be lived, on a beautiful paradise earth free from pain, sickness, old age and death. Their wish and prayers are that all who were blessed to have known Gloria and Bob Conner will be there with them to experience it and see the next adventures that await them.
