Phillip Michael Casey
October 23, 1980 — April 7, 2020
Phillip Michael Casey, 39, of Denver, CO was freed from this lifetime on April 7, 2020 in Greeley, CO in search of the answers he sought most his life. Phillip, known to family and friends as "Flipper”, was born in Denver, CO on October 23, 1980.
Flipper, or just "Flip”, was an emotional and restless soul who questioned the universe, humanity, authority, and the meaning of life. He spent his life searching for his place in a world that didn’t always understand or appreciate the profundity of his questions, the depth of his soul, or enormity of his heart. Flip often best expressed his thoughts and feelings through artistic expression, his passion for music, and one special time, through a poem he penned with his younger brother Colin.
"Earthly Love”
I love this world
And everything in it.
I love the flowers
And the sea
And the summer breeze.
I love the birds
And the dirt
And the trees.
I love the dogs and the cats
And the honey bees.
I hope everyone around me sees
The beauty that occurs to me.
Situations bring to light
Hope,
That someday it could all
Be alright.
Everything has value to me
All the pain
And the plight.
Love is my guide.
This journey is one we must take alone
But we must share this home.
Let’s make peace not war
This is my dream.
I could ask for nothing more.
Phillip is survived by his mother Kandace (Vogt) Kimble and stepfather Harold as well as his father Joseph Casey and stepmother Kay. He also leaves behind his brothers Brett, Jeremy, Colin, stepbrother Mason, and a large, loving, extended family.
