Jay Evan Damato

Jay Evan Damato passed away at age 46 on Sunday evening after a valiant battle with cancer. Jay will always be remembered for his kind-hearted, open and good nature Jay was born in Concord, CA and was a lifetime resident of Contra Costa County. Jay graduated from Ygnacio Valley High School and earned a degree in English from University of California at Berkeley. Jay enjoyed a 21-year career as a mortgage broker and co-owner of Elite Financial. Jay was an avid Cal and Oakland A's fan and enjoyed fishing, collecting sports memorabilia, genealogy, any and all card and dice games, and spending time with his family and friends. Jay is survived by his loving wife Kathi, and devoted children Alex and Samantha, his mother Carol Damato, sister Cindy Bermingham, brother Paul D'Amato and many, many close friends and relatives. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Jay's life on Saturday, April 23rd at 1:00 PM at the Faculty Club on the UC Berkeley campus. Please come wearing blue and gold or yellow and green or your favorite CAL or Oakland A's fan's wear.
