Melanie Marie Manibusan passed away at her home in Pleasant Hill, California on April 13, 2017 after a two-year battle with lung cancer. Melanie was born on May 19, 1957, in Oakland, CA. She grew up in Alameda with her parents and ten siblings. Melanie married the love of her life, Fidel Manibusan, and moved to Pleasant Hill where they raised their beautiful family. Melanie worked as a waitress for 30-years serving the community that she lived in, she spent the latter part of her career at Carrows Restaurant on Contra Costa Blvd. Melanie became a grandmother in 2008, which became her full time obsession. Melanie loved to bake and play tic-tac-toe with her grand babies, take weekend trips to the ocean, and cuddle her loyal companion, her dog Pebbles. Melanie enjoyed playing BINGO and other card games with her family. Melanie is survived by her loving children Timothy Manibusan (Jen) of Alamo, John Manibusan (Kristin) of Walnut Creek, Michael Manibusan (Bridget) of Martinez, Nicholas Manibusan (Rachel) of Vallejo, and Kimmy Manibusan of Los Angeles. She is also survived by her sisters, Vonnie Barrett, Becky Michaud, Geryln Donsbach, Marya Sinopoli, Dawn Stevens and her brothers Greg Barrett, John Barrett, and Bob Barrett. The funeral service will take place on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 1:00pm at Christ the King Church located at 195 Brandon Rd, Pleasant Hill.
