Born: April 26, 1930, Bronx, NY, Died: November 11, 2024, Kissimmee, FL
Michael was the son of the late Martin Henry and Catherine (Loftus); brother of Martin (Pat) Henry. Michael was predeceased by sisters Helen and Mary (Higgins); brothers John, Thomas, Rev. James Henry, S.V.D.; sons Kevin, Michael; and loving wife Mary (McEnaney).
Michael is survived by 5 daughters, Liz (Mark MacPherson), Maureen (Wayne Lau), Eileen (John Slack), Mary (Greg Cyr), Geralyn (Rick Schneider), grandchildren (Ashley, Schyler MacPherson), (Vitaliy Lau), (Phillip and Emily Slack, Mary and Jay Finn, Christina Slack), (Kelsey Cyr), (Ryan, Kyle Schneider), and many nieces and nephews.
Michael attended All Hallows High School in the Bronx, and Maryknoll High School. He received his B.A. from Maryknoll College/Seminary in 1951. Michael was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps in 1951; assigned to Fort Benjamin Harrison (IN) for training in electronic machines and to U.S.M.C. Supply Depot (Philadelphia, PA) until 1953. Michael received his M.B.A. from New York University Business School in 1956; his J.D. from St. John’s University Law School in 1961; and his C.P.A. from N.Y. State.
After accounting and tax positions at various corporations, Michael retired as Director of International Tax in 1999 from Morton International, Chicago, IL.
Michael was an avid traveler, a worldwide foodie, amateur photographer, enthusiast of Irish music and culture, Bagpipe player, and diehard Notre Dame football fan, lifelong NY Yankees and NY Jets fan, Villanova, and St. John’s college basketball fan. During retirement, he enjoyed volunteering with the Veterans and local Soup Kitchen.
Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. A memorial service will be held in the future. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to Smile Train or Divine Word Missionaries, P.O. Box 6098, Techny Il 60082-9912.
