Trudy Jean Callahan

Trudy Jean Callahan died peacefully at her sons' home on May 9, 2026, at age 82 with family loving her as she transitioned into God’s hand.

Trudy was born in Ridgewood, NJ on November 15, 1943, to Corrine and Hans Reitsma. Trudy had two brothers, Durk and Jack, whom she loved deeply. She also had a sister, Ruth, who passed away from unknown causes.

Trudy married Roger Giacin where they had three children. Her first child, Jeffery Roger, passed away at birth. This was devastating for them. They went on to have Roger, then Jeff. Trudy loved her children and being a homemaker. Her top priority was always her boys.

Trudy then moved to Kissimmee, Florida with Jeff to start a new life in 1989. She had a beautiful home, friends, and loved to gamble with her girls. She was the type of woman you could always count on to answer the phone.

She is survived by her two sons, Roger Giacin, Jeff Giacin, and her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Giacin; two grandsons, Michael Giacin and Jake Giacin, two granddaughters, Megan McGath and Jessica Giacin, one great granddaughter, Gracelynn Smith, Durk’s wife Doris Reitsma and her three daughters, Kim, Lisa, and Cheryl.

Trudy will be missed by all of us.
