Charles Livingston
February 11, 1937 — April 26, 2026
Charles Livingston, a beloved pastor and a man whose life was a beacon of faith and love, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, in Winter Haven, Florida. Born on February 11, 1937, in Calvin, Virginia, Charles lived a remarkable life marked by devotion—both to his family and to his calling as a shepherd of souls.
From a young age, Charles demonstrated a zest for life and an outgoing spirit that touched everyone he met. He was a man who truly loved people, finding joy in their company and a profound purpose in spreading the word of God. His main goal throughout his life was simple yet profound: to help as many people as possible find their way to heaven. This mission guided his every action and fueled his passionate preaching, which inspired countless hearts and uplifted minds.
As a pastor, Charles was tireless and devoted, offering guidance, comfort, and hope. Many knew him as someone who not only preached faith but lived it every day with humility and grace. Beyond the pulpit, he was a man who treasured everyday moments—he loved good food and found great happiness in sharing meals and fellowship with others.
But most importantly, Charles cherished his family above all else. He was a very devoted family man, a pillar of strength and love for those closest to him. He is survived by his beloved spouse, Barbara Livingston, who stood beside him steadfastly through life’s journey. His legacy continues through his daughters Deborah (Jack) Shofner, Donna Lynn (Lynnette) Worthington Livingston, and Deana (Barry) Rhodes; as well as his sons, David (Nena) Livingston, Dwight (Amy) Livingston, and Daniel (Misti) Livingston. The family tree grows more abundant with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each carrying forward the warmth and wisdom Charles imparted.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Charles’s love extended tenderly to his sisters Clara Groseclose and Nancy (Jim) Kilgore, who remain close in memory and spirit. They remember him as a shining light, a brother whose faith and laughter filled their lives with joy.
The community will gather to honor and celebrate Charles’s home going at the First Assembly of God Eagle Lake, located at 670 North Eagle Drive in Eagle Lake, Florida. Services will begin on May 1, 2026, with a gathering from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by the funeral service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. These moments will be filled with reflection, gratitude, and a shared recognition of a man who gave so much of himself to others.
Charles' life was a testament to purpose, passion, and love. His spirit will forever inspire those who knew him to seek kindness, embrace faith, and treasure every moment with family and friends. Though he has departed from this earthly plane, the seeds he planted in hearts across generations will continue to blossom.
May we find comfort in the knowledge that Charles’s ultimate goal was fulfilled, he was able to fly like an eagle and that he now rests in the peace he so deeply wished for all. His memory remains a precious gift, warmly held in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed by his gentle guidance and unwavering love.
