Dianne Elizabeth Wheeler Trapini, 77, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully Saturday, February 19, 2022.
A native of Schenectady, NY, Dianne was the wife of Ted Trapini and the daughter of Teddy T. Wheeler and June Walrath Wheeler, both deceased.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Ted; daughter, Katie Trapini Knickrehm and husband, Mark; son, Daniel Trapini and wife, Gladys; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Tommy, PJ, Libby, Josh, Rocco, Gabby, and Joseph. She is survived by brothers Dr. Thomas Wheeler (Diane), Andrew Wheeler (Sue), and Teddy Wheeler, Jr., sisters Peggy Houde (Ray), Barbara Rangan (Kasturi), June Wheeler Murdock, and countless nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her loving dog Honeybun.
Dianne was a teacher and principal who was beloved by her students for her strong but nurturing way. Her Catholic faith was her top priority, and she had a great devotion to Our Lady and the rosary. She was very active in her parishes in many volunteer capacities. She received a papal award in 2007 from the Diocese of Charleston for her service. Her family was her world, and she is remembered as a great wife, mother, sister, nana, daughter, and aunt. She formed many great friendships during her years in Schenectady, NY, Erie, PA, and Sumter, SC.
Visitation is 5:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, February 25, 2022 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel. There will be a short prayer service at 7:15PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30AM Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Noah Carter officiating. A rosary will be said before the funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery.
