Dorothy Mae "Dot" (Sykes) Sells - 98, of Kernersville, passed from this life on February 19, 2021.
She was born July 12, 1922 in Guilford County to the late Charles Clayton Sykes and Annie Mae (Pendry) Sykes.
Dot graduated from Colfax High School. She loved flowers, crocheting, and especially reading. She retired in 1987 for Baptist Nursing Home in Winston-Salem.
In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her brothers Ralph Sykes, Grady Sykes, John Sykes, and Clay Sykes, and her sisters Pearl Sells and Pauline Crews.
Left to cheris her memory are her children Rebecca Hunt (husband Walter) and Thomas B. Sells. Grandchildren, Zane Sells, Shane Sells (wife Melissa), Dwayne Sells (wife Beverly), Jessica Clayton, Clifton Hunt, and Donise Reyes (husband Chris). She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be accepting visitors at Pierce Jefferson Funeral Home, 213 W. Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC 27284 on Monday, February 22 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 23 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery. Condolences may be shared with family at www.Pierce-JeffersonFuneralService.com
Family has requested donations be made directly to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
