George William Finley, 75, of Kernersville, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 29, 1946, in Akron, Ohio, George was the son of the late Jack Melvin Finley and the late Dolores Myers Finley. George married the love of his life Mary Jane McLain on February 23, 1967. He retired from Mannington Mills in High Point, NC. He enjoyed playing baseball and pickle ball. However, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family around his pool.
Left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 54 years Mary Jane Finley of the home; daughters, Jessi Whitt (Ken) of Kernersville, Jaime Manders (Paul) of Kernersville; granddaughter Mackenzie Whitt of Kernersville; cousins, Dee Schick of Cambridge, Ohio, Mike Myers of Asheboro, NC, and Garnett Hopson of Austin, TX; also, a host of other very special extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his faithful K-9 Companion Casey, whom he loved dearly.
A celebration of life service will be held at Turning Point Church on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family would like for contributions in George’s memory be directed to Turning Point Church, 1160 NC-66, Kernersville, NC, 27284.
