George James Marc-Aurele, 71, passed away peacefully November 25, 2020 as he was surrounded by his children and family. A Mass of Catholic Burial with Military Funeral Honors will be 11:00 A.M. December 5, 2020 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in his hometown of South Amboy, New Jersey. Born in Jackson Heights, New York, George was the son of the late Rose Zadorozny and Laurence Marc-Aurele. He spent 32 years as a union pipe fitter with Local 9 in NJ, after retiring from the union he worked an additional 10 years as a state inspector for the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. He was an avid golfer, and an active baseball umpire at the time of his death and was named the New Jersey Umpire of the Year in 2019 by the State Federation of Umpires. Survivors include his daughter, Lauren Penizotto of Oak Ridge, North Carolina; sons, George Marc-Aurele and his wife Bethany Marc-Aurele of Little Silver, New Jersey, Michael Marc-Aurele and his finance Ariel Cairns of Windham, New Hampshire, and Matthew Marc-Aurele of Clifton, New Jersey; grandchildren, Nick, Nate and Emma Penizotto, and Sophia, Ella, Julia and Mason Marc-Aurele; sisters Suzanne Marc-Aurele and Lucille Corsair; brothers, Larry Marc-Aurele and his wife Helen and Paul Marc-Aurele and his wife Michelle, as well as extended family and friends.
