James “Jim” Michael Aldridge, 63, passed away March 7, 2018. Funeral Services Celebrating his life will be 2:00PM Monday March 12, 2018 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, officiated By Dr. Pete Kunkle.
Jim was born February 22, 1955 to John Aldridge and Betty Campbell Aldridge. He was raised in Shawnee, Kansas. As a young man he liked competing in Track and Field and Gymnastics. He graduated From Shawnee Mission High School in 1973. Over the years he gained many degrees and licenses in small engine repair, HVAC, computer repair to name a few of them. He met his wife, Tammie, in Minnesota in 1978. They began their family in Minnesota before moving to Kernersville.
Jim was always working and helping somebody, rarely idle. Some of his favorite things were popcorn, riding his motorcycle, but especially his Family. He enjoyed being with and teaching kids about mechanics, which exemplified his knowledge and patience. His sense of humor was corny and unique. All of his children inherited the same sense of humor. Jim was rarely seen without his Tea and Swisher Sweet Cherry Cigars.
Survivors include wife of 39 years, Tammie Aldridge of the home; daughters, Adrianne Aldridge and Amanda Aldridge Leonard and Nick; sons, Thomas Aldridge and Raini and Joseph Aldridge; grandchildren Lillie Aldridge, Harley Aldridge, Gracie Aldridge, Dustin Head, and Scarlette Leonard; parents, John And Betty Aldridge; sisters, Betty Ann Houghton and Rick, Kathy O’Connor and Tom, Delora Overfield and Jeff, and Tracy Schnagl and Tim; brothers, Mark Aldridge and Julie and Phillip Aldridge; and many extended family and friends.
The family will visit with friends at the Funeral Home from 3-5 P.M. Sunday March 11, 2018.
