Judith “Judy” Mae Vinoski McElroy, 70, of Kernersville, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Kernersville Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Born, March 28, 1951, in New Haven, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Charles Stanley Vinoski, II and the late Mae Elizabeth Linker Vinoski. Judy graduated from Ben. L Smith High School in 1970, and from Guilford Technical Community College with her Licensed Practical Nurse degree in 1973. She spent many years working as an LPN for New Hanover Regional Medical Center, New Hanover Regional Health Associates, and later Advanced Home Health Care. Judy enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors enjoying God’s beautiful creation. As a child she learned the sport of bowling, and continued to bowl throughout her entire life. Judy enjoyed crafts, and had her own craft business Ribbons & Fleece. She loved her family, and prided herself in being a loving mother and grandmother.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Douglas Henderson McElroy of the home; son, Jason Herron Hendren (Deborah) of Durham; daughters, Dana Shropshire Rutledge (William) of Kernersville, Jessica Hendren Miller (Kenneth) of Leland, Whitney Grier McElroy (Donta Love) of Burlington, Leigh McElroy Jones (Cliff) of Oak Ridge; twelve grandchildren; and brother, Charles “Chuck: Vinoski, III.
A celebration of Judy and Doug’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 30, 2022 in the chapel at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Kernersville Arts and Crafts Guild, PO Box 222, Kernersville, NC, 27285.
Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service- Kernersville Chapel is serving the McElroy family.
