Lillian Dolores Jones Verner

Lillian Dolores Jones Verner, 92, of Kernersville, NC and Melissa, TX passed away peacefully at Kernersville Medical Center Hospital on Monday, January 30, 2023. A native of West Palm Beach, FL, Lillian, also known by her friends as Lily, was the daughter of Albert Jackson Jones and Lula Dale Watkins, both deceased. Lillian cherished the time spent with her family, and enjoyed reading her Bible, laughing and dancing, and making other people smile. Lillian dearly loved her large family and is survived by her five children - daughter, Donna Reynolds (Allen) of Kernersville, NC; son, Mather Verner Jr. of Chickmauga, GA; daughter Bonnie Woodby (John) of Jonesborough, TN; daughter Lynne King (Ronnie) of Blairsville, GA; daughter Stephanie Baggett (Steven) of Melissa, TX; and bonus son Norman Black (Rose) of Bunker Hill, WV, their children Kevin and Jonathan, and grandchildren Fern and Willow. She is also survived by her grandchildren Shannon Riley, Staci Glogowski, Johnny Woodby Jr., Danny Woodby, Tara Hund, Jason Verner, Amber Borden, Heather Alexander, Mikael Alexander; great-grandchildren Brianna Ford, Summer Riley, Kalib Hooker, Evan Glogowski, Ryan Glogowski, Larry Woodby, Monty Woodby, James Woodby, Mika Woodby, Johnny Woodby III, Sawyer Woodby; great-great grandchildren Tripp Ford, Atlas Woodby, and Emilia Woodby; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded by her husband, Mather “Coot” Verner, daughter-in-law Christine Verner, grandson Jesse Reynolds, brother Albert Jones Jr. and sister Maxine Stossel. A celebration of Lillian’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Kernersville Community House, 405 Salisbury St, Kernersville, NC.
