Mary Goode Holcomb

Mary Ruth Goode Holcomb was called home to Heaven on November 11, 2022. She was born on December 30, 1940 to the late William Walter Goode and Nancy (Nannie) Jane Rominger Goode of Belews Creek. Mary was a graduate of Walkertown High School and a devoted member of Faith of God Ministries in Walkertown. After marriage, she became a home maker and spent most of her time taking care of children. Especially, her nieces and nephews and then later her grandchildren. The children would simply refer to her as “MawMaw “or “Mama Roo”. She enjoyed spending time with her church on the Praise team, as a Sunday School teacher, and Drama Director. She also was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Brothers; John Goode, William Goode , Roger Goode and Jerry Goode, Sisters, Imogene Silverthorne, Shirley Stoltz and Leola Bowman. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William Holcomb of Walkertown, her son Chris Holcomb and daughter - in - Law Pamela Holcomb of Belews Creek and her daughters, Joanna Holcomb and Lori Decker and son - in - Law Jacce Decker of Walkertown; grandchildren; Brittany, Christopher and Destany Holcomb, Joshua Lockwood, Erik, Nikolas and Kassidy Decker; brother, Danny Goode and sister Janie Bowman. Visitation will be at Faith of God Ministries on November 20 at 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be November 20 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Ryan Bovender officiating. Internment will immediately follow at Faith of God Ministries Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith of God Ministries; or at P.O. Box 40 Walkertown 27051 Services are entrusted to Pierce- Jefferson Funeral Service, Kernersville.
