Thomas Edward Leonard

Thomas "Tom" Edward Leonard, 72, of Oak Ridge passed away on September 22, 2022 at Kernersville Medical Center in Kernersville. Born in Salisbury, North Carolina, he called Guilford County home as a child, and then later after retirement, with a long stint in Florida in between. He was the only son of the late Eugene and Lillian (Hardy) Leonard and husband of Linda Gail Queen. Thomas is survived by his wife, Linda ; his daughter, Lori Leonard; his son, Thomas Leonard; and half-sister Janet Bishop, nephew Eric Drexler, niece Julie Drexler, niece Kay Bumgardner, along with two step-daughters Sarah Miller and Gaea Justice. He was a devoted father, husband, and a friend to all animals. After spending most of his adult life working faithfully for United Parcel Service, he found joy in creating handmade wooden furniture and golfing with his friends and family. His greatest love, outside of his family, was music, and he attended live music events of some of the who’s who of the Rock N’ Roll legend. An Alum of UNC (Class of ‘72), he enjoyed rooting for the Tarheels in collegiate sports, and the Atlanta Braves in professional sports. A memorial service celebrating Tom's life will be at 2:00PM on November 13, 2022 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service Kernersville Chapel, 213 West Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC 27284.
