Thomas "Tom" Zapach

Thomas “Tom” Zapach passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022 in Winston-Salem, NC surrounded by his daughters, Susan Zapach of Winston-Salem and Sharon Giachero of Kernersville, NC, as well as, his son-in-law Joseph Giachero. Tom is also survived by his son, Jonathan Zapach, Allentown, PA; sister, Sylvia Kozy; brothers, Theodore and Michael Zapach; three grandchildren whom he was very proud of and loved to spend time with; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine; and brothers, Joseph, Jr. and David.
Tom was born in Hazleton, PA on January 24, 1944, to Julia (Hopko) and Joseph Zapach.
During his life Tom was known as a kind, happy and loving man by all he met. He served in the Army Reserves and was a Mess Sergeant. He spent his career as a Truck Driver. He volunteered throughout his life.
During his last four years of life, he resided in Winston-Salem with his daughter, Susan while receiving treatments for his illness.
A private gathering will be held in Pennsylvania by his daughters on Friday, September 16, 2022 between 9:00AM to11:00AM. Please contact Susan at (336) 701-2299 if you wish to celebrate Tom’s life with them.
