William “Bill” Calvin Hurley

Kernersville, NC – 87, Mr. William “Bill” Calvin Hurley, passed peacefully Monday, April 20, 2026, in his home surrounded by family.

Bill was born on January 3, 1939, in McDunn, West Virginia to the late Willie Hurley and Genevieve Null.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Kay Hurley Hampton; brother, Roy Allen Hurley; sister, Frances Shields; 1 stepbrother and 2 stepsisters.

Bill was an electrician by trade but could build a house from the ground up. He loved working with his hands and sharing his talents anytime he had an opportunity. He enjoyed woodworking, painting and sewing just to name a few of his artistic talents. He was the first to give his creations away to family, friends and even strangers. But his first love was always hunting. He looked forward to the hunting season where he would sit silently waiting.…in his favorite place……enjoying every moment.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jean Hurley; daughter, Traci Jurek (Jeff); 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Stanley and Audrey Davis; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 25th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service, 213 West Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC, with a funeral service starting at 2:00pm with Pastor Todd Reynolds officiating in the Chapel of the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Mt. Gur Cemetery in Kernersville, NC, where US Air Force military honors will be rendered.
