Romona Jo (Grissom) Miller, 77, of Centennial, passed away on July 11, 2010 with family at her side.
Romona was born April 12, 1933 to Ocia Grissom and Vivian (Hastings) Grissom in Drasco, TX. She was raised in Texas, Mississippi and California. She lived her adult life in California, Indiana and Colorado. Romona graduated from Petal High School in Petal, MS and then married Herbert Ray Miller On June 15, 1952 in Reno, NV. While working as an administrative assistant, she earned her PHT ("Put Husband Through" college and seminary). Her hobbies included Choir; Active Church worker; Proud Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother-to-be.
Romona is survived by her husband, Herbert Ray Miller of Centennial, CO, her daughter Denise Miller and husband Curt Miller of Centennial, CO and daughter Debbie Miller, of Aurora, CO, her grandchildren, Amber Miller and husband Tim Hurtgen, of Aurora, CO, Jeremy Miller of Centennial, CO, Jodi Strawn and husband Joshua Strawn, of Grand Junction, CO, Ryan Huckaby, of Aurora, CO, and Danica Huckaby, of Alameda, CA, her sisters, Eloise Shaffer, of Alameda, CA, Evelyn Bain, of Alameda, CA, and Gwen Fowler, of Hockley, TX. The family is expecting their great-grandchild, Benjamin Douglas Strawn to be born in September.
Romona was preceded in death by her parents, Ocia Crayton Grissom & Vivian Alice Hastings Grissom, a brother, Roswell Grissom and a sister, Linda Fascilla.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads Community Church, 10816 S. Parker Road in Parker.
A second Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, 1515 Santa Clara Avenue, Alameda, California on August 7, 2010 at 1:00 pm.
Inurnment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
