Suzanne Pauline Frew
July 10, 1957 — January 22, 2026
Suzanne Pauline (Stebbins) FrewJuly 10, 1957 – January 22, 2026
Suzanne Pauline (Stebbins) Frew was born on July 10, 1957, in Granada Hills, California. She was the youngest of four children — Barbara, Kathy, and Richard — and from the very beginning she brought light and imagination into the world. A little blonde, curly-haired girl known as “Suzy,” she put on backyard plays with her imaginary friend “BoZo” and her beloved rat terrier, Missy. She cherished adventures with her father, Wayne, an avid rockhound and hunter, and her mother, Doris, exploring the outdoors and building memories that shaped her love of nature and animals.
In 1977, Suzanne married James Gordon Frew. Together they raised their four children — Daniel, David, Jennifer, and Thomas — in the San Fernando Valley for over twenty years. Though Suzanne and Jim chose separate life paths in the mid-1990s, they remained friends and united in their greatest shared joy: their children.
Suzanne held many jobs throughout her life, but her most cherished roles were as a mother and as a working student at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center and later at The Wharf Pet & Feed Supply in Ventura, California. Her deep love for animals flourished there, and it was where she formed many lasting friendships and truly shined. She had a natural warmth that drew people — and animals — to her.
In 2023, Suzanne moved to Franktown, Colorado, where she found peace living with her brother-in-law Mark, her niece Lilly, her great-nephew Oscar, and her beloved little dog, Copper. During this time, she volunteered in a local church’s children’s ministry, delighted in watching deer wander past the back patio, and treasured her time playing with Oscar.
Suzanne is survived by her four children: Daniel Williams, David Frew, Jennifer Frew, and Thomas Frew; her four grandchildren, Taylor, Alexis, Christina, and Monica; her brother-in-law Mark; her niece Lilly; and her great-nephew Oscar. She was preceded in death by her father, Everett Wayne; her mother, Doris; her sisters, Kathy and Barbara; and her brother, Richard.
Suzanne loved being a mom more than anything. She fought fiercely for her children and made sure they always knew they were loved unconditionally. Whether standing up to a grumpy neighbor, advocating at school, or opening her home to friends who needed a safe place, she led with protectiveness and heart.
While she treasured motherhood, becoming “Grammie” and “Great Auntie” brought her a special kind of joy. She adored her grandchildren and great-nephew Oscar. Beach days, art projects, blowing bubbles, bug-hunting adventures, nature walks, and endless silliness were her specialties. She had a gift for making childhood magical.
Suzanne will be remembered for her fierce love, her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, and the way she made those around her feel safe and cherished
