With profound sadness and immense gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Toni Lynne Earp, who passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026, after a courageous and prolonged battle with cancer. She was 77 years old.

For 34 wonderful years, Toni shared an extraordinary marriage with her husband, best friend, and devoted partner, Rick Earp. Together, they built a life rooted in love, resilience, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Toni often reflected with pride on the remarkable journey she and Rick shared—from humble beginnings to a life filled with happiness, success, cherished friendships, and countless treasured memories.

Born on November 15, 1948, Toni grew up in Sacramento, California, before raising her family on a 380-acre ranch in Ripon, in California's Central Valley. Nearly 13 years ago, she and Rick made Colorado their home, where they continued to enjoy the wonderful life they had built together.

Family was the center of Toni's world. She treasured being a mother, delighted in being "Nonni," and found her greatest happiness in creating a home where everyone felt welcome and loved. Whether she was preparing a favorite Italian meal or baking her famous apple and pumpkin pies, Toni's love was most often expressed around the family table. She also leaves behind her cherished Bernedoodle, Gia, whose loyal companionship was a constant source of comfort and happiness.

Proud of her Italian heritage, Toni delighted in bringing family and friends together through food and tradition. Her homemade Italian dishes were legendary, but it was her apple and pumpkin pies that became family treasures. Holiday gatherings simply weren't complete without them, and everyone agreed there was only one person trusted to make them.

Toni dedicated 21 distinguished years to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department, earning the rank of Sergeant with the respect and admiration of colleagues and the community through her professionalism, integrity, and compassionate spirit.

Service to others was woven into every chapter of Toni's life. She devoted herself to Girl Scouts for decades—as a scout, troop leader, area leader, and state consultant in both California and Colorado. Through her leadership and mentorship, she inspired generations of young women to become confident, capable, and compassionate leaders.

Toni will be remembered for her extraordinary inner strength, her generous heart, her unwavering resilience, and the endless love she poured into everyone around her. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. Whether through a home-cooked meal, thoughtful advice, a warm embrace, or simply her steady presence, Toni left an enduring mark on the lives of so many. To countless family members, friends, neighbors, and Girl Scouts, she was simply "Nonni."

Toni's memory will be treasured by the many people whose lives she touched—her loving family, lifelong friends, neighbors, former colleagues, fellow Girl Scouts, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Toni's legacy lives on in the family she adored, the traditions she created, the people she mentored, and the love she shared so freely. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her to lead with strength, kindness, generosity, and grace.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
