Robert Joseph Dube, affectionately known as "Dube" to those who knew him well, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Sun City, Arizona, at the age of 81. Born on February 18, 1945, in Brunswick, Maine, Robert led a life marked by dedication, resilience, and deep love for his family and friends.
A proud veteran, Robert served honorably in the Marine Corps for four years during the Vietnam War. During his service, he worked as a heavy equipment operator—a role that showcased his strength and commitment. It was during this time that he earned his GED, demonstrating his determination to better himself even in challenging circumstances.
Robert’s professional career was defined by his skilled craftsmanship and work ethic. As a Boiler Maker with Local 29 out of Boston, Massachusetts, he distinguished himself as both a welder and a construction expert. His 35 years in the construction industry reflected a lifetime of hard work and pride in his trade until his retirement in 2003.
Outside of his vocation and service, Robert had a heart full of passions and friendships. He adored his dogs, considering them his best companions. He was a dedicated puzzle enthusiast, frequently engaging in crossword puzzles that delighted his sharp mind. Ever the loyal friend, Robert was known for his readiness to assist those in need and for maintaining enduring connections with his closest companions.
Golf was another beloved pursuit of Robert’s. A committed member of the Sun City Golf Association and an avid golfer at the Coyote Lakes country club for over a decade, he earned many trophies and delighted in the camaraderie and challenge the sport offered.
Central to Robert’s world was his cherished family. He shared a profound and loving bond with his wife, Marilyn, described by all as a partnership rich in mutual affection—a love that endured until the end. He was a devoted father to his sons, David and Dana Dube, and a proud grandfather to Jonathan, Katie, Isabella, Laurna, and Tonya, whom he adored and supported with steadfast care. The warmth of his relationships extended to many loving friends who held him in great esteem.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Cecile and Albert Dube, and siblings, Jaqueline Gauthier and Lionel Dube. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who loved him and who mourn his passing.
The life of Robert Joseph Dube was one of service, skill, and unwavering love. His legacy is reflected in his family’s love and the many friendships he fostered. He will be remembered with respect and affection by all who knew him.
