Roberta "Bobbie" Jean Young
Feb 2, 1936 — Jun 28, 2026
Roberta Jean Young, affectionately known as "Bobbie," passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at the age of 90 in Glendale, Arizona.
Bobbie was born on February 2, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio. She spent many years in Wadsworth, Ohio, where she worked as a secretary and accountant for Luke Engineering. After relocating to Arizona, she also worked for the State of Arizona Department of transportation. Throughout her career, she was known for her strong work ethic, dedication, and reliability.
Those who knew Bobbie will remember her spunky spirit, quick wit, and unmistakable sass. She had a vibrant personality and a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room. She especially enjoyed playing card games, including Pinochle, Euchre, Liverpool Rummy, and Poker, and she never passed up an opportunity to visit the casino and try her luck at the slot machines.
More than anything, Bobbie cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loyal friend whose love and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Bobbie is survived by her daughter, Joyce Rossiter; her sons, Ernie L. Groskopf, Edward L. Groskopf, and Eric L. Groskopf; the father of her children and first husband, Ernest E. Groskopf; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Her family will forever treasure the many memories they shared together.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dempsey L. Young, and her beloved daughter, Jean Phillips.
Bobbie's family will remember her fierce independence, playful personality, and the love she shared with those around her. Her legacy will live on through the countless memories she created with her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed.
