Adela Olivia Greenmun

Sep 20, 1935 — May 7, 2026

Adela Olivia “Libby” Greenmun was born on September 20, 1935 in Wagon Mound NM to Eduardo and Lidia Montoya. She entered into her rest on May 7, 2026 surrounded by family and friends.

Libby went to school in Durango Co, graduating in 1954 from Wagon Mound High School.

Libby married Albert Duran in 1954 and they welcomed a baby boy in December of 1957, Ronald Steven.

She later married her beloved, Francis Greenmun in 1968 in Grand Junction Co. They enjoyed fishing on Grand Mesa, bowling, the BRONCOS, getting together with friends, and their cats. They moved to Albuquerque in 1979.

Libby worked for St Mary’s (CO) and later years in the office medical field in NM. They loved taking road trips and traveling with family and friends, something she and Fran did on a whim.

Libby loved all the animals, she often fed stray cats, making them beds and making sure they were cared for and taking in stray dogs. She also supported the animal rescues. Never was there a furry face she didn’t love.

Above all, Libby also loved Jesus, reading her Bible, and listening to her music loudly! She especially loved Joey & Rory.

She lost her husband Fran in 2007. Also preceding her in death are her parents, Eduardo and Lidia Montoya, brother Joe Montoya, sisters Estella Valverde and Rebecca Medina, and grandson Brian Cowdrey.

Libby is survived by her son Ronald (Tami) Duran, brothers Benjamin (Janet) and Felix (Christina) Montoya, granddaughter Jill Cowdrey, great grandsons Justin (Stacie) Cowdrey, Nathan Cowdrey, Jacob Cowdrey, great great grandchildren, Miah, Aly, Liam, Bentley, and Brian Cowdrey. Many nieces and nephews.
