Albert Edward Kraus

Albert Edward Kraus (Al) passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 83.  Was born in Abington, Pennsylvania on January 1, 1943.  Served 20 years in the US Air Force, served 30 years civil service on Kirtland Air Force Base and was a member of the American Legion for over 35 years.  A longtime Philadelphia Eagles football fan and NACAR fan.  Loved to tinker with and fix things.  Enjoyed time with his family and numerous friends.  

Survived by children, Sherri Barnett, Michael Kraus and wife, Jessica Duncan Kraus, Barbara Kraus and Deborah Moore; ex- spouse, Ruth Kraus, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.  Also known as "Grandpa Santa".  Preceded in death by father, Edgar Kraus; mother, Margaret Kraus; sister, Norma Craft; daughter LeighAnnette Breeding; and long-time partner, Lona Nitz.  

Services held on N. Guadalupe Street, Santa, NM 87501, 11:15am and followed by memorial at American Legion Post 49 at 11005 Central Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87123, 4pm.
