In Loving Memory of Anthony R. Sedillo

August 24, 1955 — August 15, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Anthony R. Sedillo, who passed away on August 15th, 2026, at age 70. Anthony was born on August 24, 1955, to Joe Sedillo and Hilda Zamora. He was a beloved husband, longtime partner, father, brother, uncle, and wonderful friend to many. He was born and raised in the 12th Street area and went to school at Valley High School. He was the second oldest out of four brothers and one sister. Anthony shared his life with his wife and longtime partner Maria Chavez for 43 years and was a loving father to Patricia Gutierrez. One of his greatest loves was being there for his family and fur babies. He made sure to give it his all when working or completing projects, even if it meant working twice as hard for it. He was also always offering his love and support to those that needed it.

Anthony is survived by his wife and longtime partner Maria Chavez; his daughter Patricia Gutierrez; son -in-law Porfirio Gutierrez; brother-in-law Chris Chavez; his brothers, Philip Sedillo, Richard Sedillo, and Leo Sedillo; and his sister Nancy Sedillo; his many beloved nieces and nephews; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

He now joins his beloved brother, Thomas Sedillo, and other loved ones who passed before him. Anthony will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends, and the memories he created with everyone around him. Anthony loved to cook and was particular about what he made and ate, but everyone knew his love for sweets, especially chocolate. He loved to make things out of wood and would make picture frames and wooden crosses. Anthony was a kind and wonderful person to those that loved him and got the chance to know him.

Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and is finally at peace. We like to imagine him reunited with his good friend David, sharing a drink together as they once did, and surrounded by the family and loved ones who went before him. While we will miss him more than words can express, we find peace in knowing he is no longer in pain and is once again surrounded by those he loved.

His memory and the love he shared will live on through his wife, daughter, brothers, and sister, as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Each of them carries a special piece of him in their hearts, along with the memories and moments they shared that will be treasured for years to come.
