Connie Elaine Shelton
November 11, 1942 — May 25, 2021
Connie Elaine Shelton passed away peacefully on May 25, 2021 in her home in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 78. Connie is survived by her son Mitch Shelton, daughter Michele Shelton, daughter LaRee Pyle, daughter-in-law Wendy Shelton, son-in-law James Pyle, five grandsons; Austin Shelton, Tyler Shelton, Marcus Pyle, Jared Pyle, and Dalton Pyle, sister Dana Christie and sister Sonja Bronniman. She is preceded in death by her father Robert Mayhan, mother Dorothy Fisher and brother Wes Mayhan.
Connie was born in El Paso, TX on November 11, 1942 to Robert Mayhan and Dorothy Fisher. She graduated from Springfield High in Springfield, CO in 1960. Connie Shelton was married to Dale Shelton from 1961 to 1971 and moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1966 where she lived in her house until her death. She never remarried but remained in close contact with Dale as a support system for their kids and grandkids for the past 60 years.
Connie spent many years working as a Realtor, Property Management and Rental Agent. The work was challenging yet it gave her a deep satisfaction of connecting and helping people see their dreams come together.
Connie Shelton was a very jovial person who loved her kids and grand boys very much. She would do anything for her kids and was a really good loving mom and grandma. Morals, values, accountability and independence were very important to her and were instilled within her family structure. She loved music and loved to dance. She treasured spending time and having fun with family and neighborhood friends. Connie loved the outdoors going to the mountains and lakes. One of her favorite things to do was to visualize images in the clouds above then challenge those around to see something better. Connie was always the optimist. She was a genuine beautiful soul and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Her wishes were to be cremated with no funeral services to be held. Connie was very laid back and wanted simplicity in the end. The family will be holding a small celebration of life for Connie.
