In Loving Memory of Edward Aros
Edward Aros, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 92.
Born in Canoga Park, California, Edward lived a long and meaningful life marked by hard work, dedication to his family, and a heart that touched everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his son, Arthur Aros, and his three siblings, Ana, Joseph, and Eleanor.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Eduarda “Lala” Bustos Aros; his children, Ana, Lizbeth, Adela, and Eddie Jr.; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
For most of his life, Edward worked in construction specializing in cement work. He took tremendous pride in his craftsmanship and built a reputation as a hardworking, dependable man whose work spoke for itself. Throughout his career, he worked for countless individuals, including several celebrities, and always enjoyed sharing stories from the many experiences he encountered along the way.
A man of many interests, Edward had a deep appreciation for Western cowboy films, war movies, American history, and classic automobiles. He could often identify the make and model of a classic car faster than he could remember which child he was talking to—a family joke that brought laughter to those around him. His love for classic cars led him to spend countless hours rebuilding and restoring them whenever he had the opportunity. He also enjoyed fishing, attending car shows, playing poker, and spending time with family.
Edward was known for his sharp wit, great sense of humor, and remarkable poker face. More importantly, he was known for his generous spirit, his love for children, and the genuine kindness he showed to others. Family and friends describe him as a man with a big heart who never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
As a father, Edward taught his children the value of hard work, perseverance, and determination. He believed that anything worth having was worth working for and encouraged those around him to never give up, no matter the challenges they faced. He helped raise his family in the Christian faith and instilled values that will continue to guide future generations.
Some of the family’s most treasured memories are of gathering together while Edward shared stories, life lessons, and laughter over his favorite bottle of wine. His wisdom, humor, and presence made every gathering special.
Though his absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved him, his legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the lessons he taught, and the countless lives he touched throughout his 92 years.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo Blvd NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Edward’s journey on earth has ended and that he now rests in the loving arms of our Lord. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
