Elmer Carl Garcia (EG), 72 of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Elmer was born on August 5, 1952 in Carnuel, NM, the son of Juanito and Bernardita Garcia. Elmer married Angela Barela on September 4, 1971. He was a devoted father, husband, and loved being a grandfather and great grandfather.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents Juanito and Bernardita Garcia, His brother Isidro Garcia, and his sister Arleen Greifinger.

Elmer is survived by his loving wife; Angela Garcia, his 3 sons Lawrence Garcia and wife Brenda, Isidro Garcia and wife Robynn, Armando Garcia and wife Maria, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Felipe Garcia, Gilbert Garcia, and sisters Carmela Gabaldon, Debby Mora, and Judy Gutierrez, their spouses and many nieces and nephews.

Elmer was a New Mexico Music Icon who performed music throughout the state and was a part of countless celebrations for families spanning 60 years. He was also an original music artist, Elmer will be remembered for his amazing music (The Good Tymes Band) and generous spirit.

Services will be held on July 18th at St, Frances Xavier Catholic Church - 820 Broadway Blvd, SE 87102

Service Times are as follows:

Rosary 8:30 am

Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM or immediately following the Rosary

The Family would like to invite all to a Celebration of Life reception to be held at the Albuquerque Moose Lodge Hall at - 2121 Edith Blvd. NE 87102

 All are welcome to attend and celebrate Elmer’s life and music with his family.
