James "Jim" C. Ravenscraft

Feb 8, 1945 — Jun 29, 2026

James "Jim"  Ravenscraft was born on February 8, 1945 in Boulder, Colorado and passed

away on June 29, 2026.

After living in California for a short time, he grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho and moved to

Albuquerque, New Mexico as a young adult. It was here that he met the love of his life, Marietta,

started a family and built a beautiful, fulfilled life. He never missed an opportunity to tell his

daughters how proud he was of them, and he exploded with pride when each of his three

grandchildren was born.

He worked for Rainbo Baking for many years and later joined Creamland Dairies. Jim made

many lifelong friends throughout the New Mexico Grocers and Restaurants communities.

In 1999 he moved to Amarillo, Texas to become the President of Tri-State Bakery with Affiliated Foods.   He and

Marietta found a home and community in Lake Tanglewood, and we will forever cherish the

Fourth of July parade memories made there. Although they moved back to New Mexico after 20

years to be near family, Jim enjoyed keeping in touch with many of his Texas friends and still

talked about his memories in the Amarillo Executive Association.

Jim was a devoted Mason and Shriner and spent many years dedicated to these organizations.

He was lucky enough to spend some of his final days fraternizing with his Masonic brothers.

An avid golfer, Jim always loved having the perfect (often inappropriate) joke on hand to get a

laugh and make someone smile. He loved teasing and also had an incredibly big heart, always

striving to make sure everyone was taken care of.

He leaves a big hole in this world and is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marietta, his daughters

Kimberly (Kevin) Ayres and Wendy (Ray) Costello, his grandchildren, James Ayres, Raymond

Costello, and Caitlynn Ayres, and countless others who loved him.

Services celebrating Jim’s life will be held Friday, July 10, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Temple Lodge 6,

3801 Osuna Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 8710
