Jerry Padilla

Jerry Michael Padilla Sr., born June 15, 1958 in Albuquerque, NM, was called home to rest in eternal peace on January 20, 2026. Jerry was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. 

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Esteban Padilla; his mother, Isabel Canoe; his brothers, Pat Carabajal, Wilfred Carabajal, Esteban Padilla Jr.; and his sister, Rachel Cordova.

He is survived by Debra Navarro; his children, Jerry Padilla Jr., Gloria Ortiz and her husband Jason, and Estevan Padilla and his wife April. Jerry was a proud grandfather to Toni Gonzalez Padilla, Marisol Padilla, Anjel Gonzalez Padilla, Faith Ortiz, Estevan Padilla Jr., Gabriella Gonzalez Padilla, Alicia Ortiz, Elena Padilla, and Ezekiel Padilla. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Mila Prieto and Elijha Prieto. Jerry is further survived by his siblings, Fidel Padilla and Jeanette Otero.

Jerry dedicated 20 years of service working for APS, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment. Outside of work, he had a deep passion for karate and proudly earned his black belt, an achievement that reflected his discipline, perseverance, and strength of character. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, working on cars with his sons, riding his motorcycle, listening to music, enjoying a cold beer, and gazing at the clouds. Jerry loved to dance, smile, and dress sharp, always carrying himself with pride. His laughter and happiness left a lasting impression on everyone around him. The time we had with him will forever be cherished. The memories, both joyful and bittersweet, are held close to our hearts. Jerry will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on through the many lives he touched and the love he leaves behind.

Mass for Jerry will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church at 9:00am.

Holy Family Catholic Church: 562 Atrisco Rd SW Albuquerque, NM 87105. 

Jerry’s celebration of life will be held at our family home to be announced after mass.
