Denton, Ray Newt, age 77 passed from this world into the arms of Jesus on 07/09/2026. He was born in Dallas, Texas on 06/08/1949, to Trudy and Newt Denton.
Ray was a Storekeeper in the Navy, and in 1970 he was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM, where he met and then married Anita Davis on September 17, 1971. They were married for almost 55 years.
Ray and Anita were blessed with two wonderful children, Trisha and Kevin, who In turn blessed us with grandkids, Tyler and Meghan, who loved their "Papa", and he adored them.
After retirement from GE Aircraft Engine Plant, Ray spent his time doing the things he loved: golf, bowling, pool, cheering for the Cowboys, going to casinos, breakfast with his cronies, and playing poker with his pals. Going to the cabin in the Brazos and working outside was a great joy, and It was very hard on him when he could no longer do many of the things he enjoyed.
Ray is survived by his wife, Anita; daughter, Trisha; son Kevin; daughter-in-law Kamie joe; grandson, Tyler; granddaughter, Meghan, nieces Michelle Watson, Rene Wells, and Shirley Kobs. He is also survived by dear friends, who are like family. A special shout out to Sue Whitlock, Debbie Hamilton, and Charity, Oliver and Sofia Ehrenreich. Thank you for being part of his life.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gene, Larry and Roger, cousin James Robinson, and Emir Dzananovic, who was an exchange student and like a son. Per Ray's request, no formal services will be held. His ashes will be interred at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to a charity of your choice in his memory, he would have liked that.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
