Valerie Sherie Gabaldon

Valerie Sherie Gabaldon, lovingly known as “Val,” passed away on March 11, 2025, in her hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born on December 8, 1976, Valerie was proud to have been born and raised in the South Valley of Albuquerque, a place that always held a special place in her heart.

Valerie was the friendliest person you could ever meet—her smile was constant, her presence warm, and her spirit full of light. She had a unique gift of seeing past people’s flaws and accepting and loving them just as they were. She was a ray of sunshine to all who crossed her path.

She devoted 16 years of her life working in behavioral health with UNM Hospitals, where she found deep purpose and joy in helping others. Her intelligence, compassion, and commitment to those in need left a lasting impact on countless lives.

Valerie was also a devoted member of Legacy Church, where she found community and strength for over 15 years. Her faith was a guiding light in her life.

She poured her heart and soul into her children, and her love for her family was undeniable. She was proceeded in death by her father Phillip Gabaldon. Valerie is survived by her daughter Alexis, son Anthony, mother Toni, brother Phillip, and sister Victoria.

Valerie’s legacy is one of kindness, love, and unwavering strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Services will be held at New Beginnings Church on Montgomery on Saturday April 5, 2025, at 12:30PM.
