David DeAnda
September 16, 1950 – May 20, 2026

David DeAnda, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at the age of 75, at his home in Los Lunas, New Mexico. David was deeply loved by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His strength, humor, and cowboy spirit left a lasting impact on many lives.

David dedicated many years of service to his community. He proudly served as the Assistant Fire and Medical Chief for Los Lunas and later worked as the Solid Waste Supervisor for the Village of Los Lunas before retiring.

Outside of work, David loved traveling to new places, exploring gift shops, watching WWE wrestling, and living the cowboy lifestyle he cherished so much. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and creating memories with the people he loved most.

David was preceded in death by his father, Lorenzo DeAnda; mother, Carmen B. DeAnda; sisters, Juanita Alling and Aurora Somera; brothers, Merdy DeAnda, Ricky DeAnda, and Tony DeAnda; and granddaughter, Christine Garcia.

He is survived by his daughter, Shirley Garcia (Matthew); his beloved grandchildren, Nathan Garcia and Ryan Garcia (Dominique); and his great-grandson, Maverick Garcia. He is also survived by his brother, George DeAnda; sisters, Sarah Pacheco, Adela Alderete, and Eva Garcia; along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

David shared a special lifelong friendship with Del DeAnda, who remained one of his closest companions throughout his life.

The family would like to give special thanks to Leroy Padilla and Lito Chavez for their friendship and support. We would also like to thank the caring staff at Las Estancias Rehabilitation Center for the compassion and care they gave David, as well as Crystal Sena, his hospice nurse, for her kindness and support during his final days.

Services will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Riverside Funeral Home in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Burial will take place at a later date.
