Derrick Richmond Haye

Derrick Richmond Haye was born July 24, 1955, in Kingston, Jamaica at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital to Janet Headley and Mr. Haye. He came to the United States in the early 70's, and lived in Houston, Texas, with his father and stepmother. Derrick later joined the United States Airforce in 1973. Upon leaving the Airforce, he resided in Denver, Colorado. He worked numerous jobs and was very successful at everything he did. He was a successful musician in the band, The Healers. He is survived by his children, Daughter Violet Abney, husband James Abney, Son Jelani and wife Chaltu Abdulkadir, and son Tobias Gates. He is survived by his brother Michael Dawes. Additionally, he is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, several grandchildren, great grandchild and band members. He will be intern at Fort Logan Cemetery with full military honors. He will be missed by all.
