Shelly Lynn Medina, 51, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on April 14, 2026.
Shelly was born on May 14, 1974, in Denver, Colorado.
She grew up in Denver, Colorado, where she spent her childhood and formative years.
Shelly spent the majority of her adult life in Aurora, Colorado — a place she loved and called home.
She was a woman known for her strength and resilience, someone who endured life’s challenges in her own way and continued to move forward. Though her path as a mother was not always what her family needed, she carried a good heart and a generous spirit that showed itself in other ways.
She was someone who would help those in need, often giving even when she had very little herself. Her kindness extended beyond her circumstances, and she had a way of showing up for others when they were struggling. She will be remembered for her willingness to give and her ability to find strength during difficult times.
She shared a deep bond with her own mother, a connection that remained important throughout her life.
As a grandmother, she brought moments of love, presence, care and connection that will be remembered and cherished.
Her life was complex, but within it were moments of generosity, strength, and care for others that will not be forgotten.
Shelly is survived by her mother, Clara Madera; her children; Jennifer Cervantes, Alejandrina Cervantes, Juan Cervantes, Florencio Aguilar, Jorge, Selena, Jesus, Luis, Jackson, and Levi; her siblings; Mark Medina, Hugo Casanova and Mario; and her grandchildren; Michael Vasquez, Xszayana Cervantes, Kalixxto Encina, and Xytzlali Encina; and numerous extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Dolores Valdez-Martinez, and siblings; Efrain Madera and MariaElena Madera; nephew Mark Anthony Medina Jr.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Romero Funeral Home, Aurora, Colorado.
