Alexandra "Rene" Gonzales
June 22, 1967 — June 3, 2026
Alexandra “Rene” Gonzales, 58 of Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, at her daughter Jenny’s home, surrounded by the love of her family.
Rene was born on June 22, 1967, in Denver, Colorado, in the (Westside), to Yvonne Gonzales and Anthony Martinez. She attended West High School and later pursued studies in cosmetology.
A hardworking and determined woman, Rene was a self-employed Hustler and devoted single mother who dedicated her life to providing for her family. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering love for those she cared about defined her life.
Rene found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved gambling, playing bingo, cooking, cleaning, enjoying good food, and, most of all, spending time with her family. She was known for her generous spirit, loving heart, and selfless nature. No matter her circumstances or how she was feeling, she always made sure her children and grandchildren had everything they needed. Even during times of illness, her greatest concern was the well-being of her family. She would give her last dollar to help someone in need, as long as she had enough left for her pop and cigarettes.
Rene is survived by her loving children: daughter Jennifer Gonzales and son-in-law Asa Griego; son Marcus Gonzales; and daughter Rochelle Silva. She was a proud grandmother to Little Marcus, Little Asa, Heaven, and Trinity.
She is also survived by her siblings: Lisa Vigil, James Gonzales, Kristianna “BooBoo” Romero, Antony Martinez, and Elizabeth Martinez Garcia. She leaves behind her beloved nephews Ernie, Nick, and Ean; nieces Monique, Jaimi, Kara, Karly, and Aimee; as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Rene was preceded in death by her mother, Yvonne Gonzales; her father, Anthony Martinerz; her sister, Denise Gonzales; her grandmother, Josie; her grandfather, Ben; and numerous other beloved family members.
A memorial service celebrating Rene’s life will be held on June 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home, 1805 South Sheridan Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado 80232.
Rene’s love, kindness, and devotion to her family will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of generosity, strength, and unconditional love will never be forgotten.
Three words that Sum up Rene's Life Generous, Devoted, Kind.
