Fred Candelaria

Fred Candelaria, known affectionately to family and friends as Fred, passed away on May 14, 2026, in Denver, Colorado. Born on May 7, 1980, in La Jara, Colorado, Fred lived a life marked by quiet strength, heartfelt humor, and a deep kindness that touched all who knew him.

Fred was a man of many facets. Though often reserved, he possessed a warm, friendly demeanor that brought comfort and joy to those around him. His protective nature and determined spirit surfaced when circumstances called for it, revealing a fiercely loyal individual who always stood up for those he loved. Fred’s generosity and love were constants in his life; he gave freely of his time and heart without hesitation.

An artist at heart, Fred’s creativity found expression through his hands. He was an accomplished artist who had a particular talent for crafting with precision and imagination. Among his interests was knitting, a pastime that showcased his patience and care. Despite not being an outdoorsman by nature, Fred enjoyed fishing, embracing moments of tranquility away from the everyday bustle. His enthusiasm for the San Francisco 49ers brought an added spark to his passions and conversations.

Fred leaves behind a devoted family who cherished him deeply. He is survived by his mother, Linda, and stepfather, Tim. He shared strong bonds with his brothers Jason, Albert, Lalo, Ray, Enrique, and Alex, and his sisters Angela, Clarishia, and Jessica. Fred was also close to his aunts Flora and Valerie and uncles Bob, Phil, and Wedo, as well as numerous cousins who formed an important part of his life.

A memorial service to honor Fred’s memory will be held on May 29, 2026, at the Romero Funeral Home-Denver located at 4750 Tejon Street, Denver, CO 80211. The services will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a gathering, followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m., offering all who loved him a chance to reflect, remember, and celebrate his life together.

Fred’s presence was a gift to many; his love, creativity, and strength leave an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered as a quiet but powerful spirit, whose warmth and loyalty will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends.
