George West Martinez
October 2, 1992 — April 10, 2026
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of George "Georgie/Jorge" West Martinez, who left us on April 10, 2026, in Denver, Colorado. Born on October 2, 1992, Georgie graced this world with his vibrant spirit and caring heart for 33 remarkable years. Georgie was a beloved son to Mary Anne and Felipe, cherished father to his son, George Jr. "GJ," and his daughter, Nazaleah. Additionally, he embraced the role of a loving stepfather to Navoli and Nayanna. He was not only a son and father but also a brother and uncle, ready to bring joy to every family gathering. He is survived by his brothers Isaiah, Gabriel, Franko, Shawn, Eric, Felipe, and Derek, as well as his sisters Tisha, Alexis, Lauren, Destiny, Kiana, Faith, Richelle, and Moe, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his step-father Richard Tafoya Jr., brother Richard Tafoya III, and grandparents George and Alice West, along with Grandma Nelly. Georgie's life was characterized by kindness and compassion. Georgie had a firm faith in Jesus Christ. He was a selfless individual who consistently extended a helping hand to those in need, demonstrating an unwavering respect for his elders. His energetic presence could light up any room, and he had a unique ability to draw children together in laughter and play as the goofy uncle everyone adored. As an avid sports enthusiast, Georgie had a special place in his heart for the Denver Broncos, but his love for sports didn't stop there; he also cheered passionately for the Nuggets, Avalanche, and Rockies. His athletic spirit shined through in everything he did, and he inspired everyone around him to celebrate their interests with equal enthusiasm. Georgie's warmth, loyalty, and generosity left an indelible mark on the lives he touched. He was curious and full of adventure, always eager to learn and explore the world around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. A viewing will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral ceremony at 11:00 AM at Victory Outreach Denver, located at 2707 W. Mississippi Ave, Denver, Colorado. A reception will follow at the VFW Post 9644, 2680 W. Hampden Ave Sheridan, Colorado 80110. In these moments of sorrow, may we find solace first in God our Father and second in remembering the beautiful moments shared with Georgie. His spirit will continue to inspire us to spread kindness, embrace our loved ones, and live life to the fullest, just as he did. Georgie, you will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
