Theresa Carreon

Theresa Carreon, age 77, beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin, passed into the arms of our Lord on May 23, 2026.

Theresa’s battle with Lewy Body Dementia was a difficult one. However, she never lost her faith and her ability to light up a room with her smile.

She loved playing bingo and going to the casinos to play slots with her family.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Mary Maldonado, her brother Roger Maldonado, and her sister Flora Acosta. We find comfort knowing that the joyful reunion must have been beautiful and beyond words. She was anxiously waiting to see them again.

Theresa is survived by her daughters, Donna Velasquez (John Castro) and Dolores Velasquez (Joe Lujan); four grandchildren, Anthony, Celeste, Ashley, and Juliette; seven great-grandchildren, Jaelyn, Elenna, Alycia, Nevaeh, Roslynn, Emily, and Emmett; and two great-great-grandchildren, Amelia and Analaya. She is also survived by her sisters Susan (Litherland, FL), Lori Tapia (CA), Connie Ryan (Randy, OK), and Debbie Barros (Ron, CO), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her best friend, Jesse Carreon.

If you were blessed to be loved by Theresa, you knew the true meaning of being loved. She was kind and funny and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Theresa loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, body, and mind. She will be deeply missed, and for those who loved her, we will be left with a hole in our hearts.

The family finds peace knowing that she is in the hands of our Lord, and we will see her again.

Private interment will be held at a later date.
