Edwin "Ed" James Dinderman
September 7, 1940 — February 24, 2026
Edwin (Ed) James Dinderman of White Bear Lake, Minnesota passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 24, 2025. Ed was born to parents Bernadine Ivadell Gissel and James Edwin Dinderman on September 7th, 1940 in Oelwein, Iowa. Edwin was a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, grandfather, friend, and guiding presence to everyone fortunate enough to know him. He carried himself with quiet strength and a generous heart, always willing to lend a hand, share a story, or offer wisdom when it was needed most. His life was built on hard work, loyalty, and love for his family. He touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor, warmth, creativity, curiosity, and outgoing nature.
Ed graduated from Mandan High School in 1958 and shortly after enlisted in the United States Navy. During this time as if destined, Ed met the love of his life Linda Braxmeier. The next 3 years were a whirlwind of letters and love for this couple as they navigated a life of service to their country and to each other. After his discharge they were finally able to marry on October 27th of 1962. The time Ed spent serving in the United States Navy was a source of pride throughout his life. He served his country with honor and carried that same sense of dedication into everything he did afterward including his friends and family. After the Navy, Ed pursued a number of careers at Control Data, Astrocom, Vision Loss Resources and even as an owner of a Mister Movies. No matter what position he held, Ed was a generous friend and possessed an uncanny ability to connect to just about anyone. Those who knew Edwin will remember his steady presence, his sense of humor, and the way he made people feel safe and cared for. He had a way of turning ordinary moments into lasting memories, whether through conversations, laughter, or simply being there when it mattered most.
Edwin was preceded in death by father James Dinderman, mother Bernadine “Gissel”DeChaney, son in law Joseph Bergeron, daughter in law MaryKay Dinderman, Sister in law Cheryl Dinderman, brother in law Ronald Brovold. Edwin is survived by wife Linda Dinderman, brother Terry Dinderman, sister Nancy Dinderman, brother David DeChaney (Sandy) daughter Gail Bergeron, and son James Dinderman (CeCe) and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, they are also filled with gratitude for the time shared with him and the love he gave so freely. Edwin’s memory will forever remain in the stories told around family tables, in the lessons he passed down, and in the countless lives he touched.
