Gregory John Cherry, 78, of Inver Grove Heights, passed away May 7th, 2026

Born January 23rd, 1948 in St. Paul, MN

Preceded in death by his parents William and Leona Cherry, brother William Cherry, nephew Chris Meyers, and niece Mindy Schlecht.

Survived by his 2 greatest loves, his sons Jeff Cherry (Kerry) and Troy Cherry. Also, he leaves behind grandchildren Alex (Sam), James (Ashley), Drew, Austin, Haley, Ryan, Patrick, Sami, Gabe (Steph) and 10 great-grandchildren. His best friends were his brothers and sisters: Jean Nowicki, Jerome Cherry (Shirley), Dennis Cherry (Stacey), and Karen Cherry. He also leaves many well-loved nieces and nephews.

He loved making people laugh and was always the life of the party. He enjoyed his daily walks, fishing in Canada, and reading, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Described by one of his nieces as “sarcastically charismatic”, Greg was greatly loved by everyone and will be dearly missed.

Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, May 15, 2026 from 4:00PM- 7:00PM at Sandberg Funeral and Cremation Services, 2593 7th Ave. East, North Saint Paul, MN 55109
