Lyle C. Snavely, Sr., age 88, of Maplewood, MN, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury. Born in Sauk Rapids, MN, Lyle was a proud 1955 graduate of St. Paul Central High School. He spent his career with Tracy Oil Co. and later Wayne Transports, Inc. A lifelong fisherman, he rarely missed an opportunity to cast a line. He also loved country drives, car shows, visiting with family and friends, enjoying family time, and many outdoor activities. Trips to the casino brought him joy and excitement. Whether it was a quiet moment in nature or a lively family gathering, Lyle embraced life fully. You were always welcomed with a big smile when walking through his door. Above all, he was a devoted family man who found his greatest joy in spending time with his beloved wife and those closest to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Katherine (Ellis) Snavely; his siblings Marguerite Brummer, Marie Hippler, and Vernon Snavely; his children David Snavely and Carolyn Badilla; his son-in-law Timothy Salaba, and his daughter-in-law Susan Snavely. Lyle is survived by his cherished wife of 70 years, Frances (Valento) Snavely; his children Debby (Gary), Lyle, Kathy (Ron), Dennis, Steven, Mary (Jim), and Wendy (Steve); 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Sandberg Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 2593 East 7th Ave., North St. Paul, MN 55109 on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 4–7 PM, and again on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 9–11 AM.
