Karl Burket

On April 30th 2026, we lost a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great grandfather. Our family was blessed with this man for 84 years.

Karl Burket was born on January 2nd 1942 to Charles and Hazel Burket in Altoona PA. He grew up in Hollidaysburg PA with his younger brother Tim where they spent a lot of time hunting and playing with cousins.

He graduated from High school, joined the Airforce, where he was stationed in Michigan. He married Cecilia Crawford in 1960. From this union they had 2 children David and Sandra. He left the Air force after 4 years and moved back to Hollidaysburg, PA where he got a job working for Bell/ATT telephone company who he worked for until his retirement. His dream was to move out west so he took his family and moved to Casper, Wyoming. He moved his family From Casper to several states ( Hila New Mexico, Phoenix AZ, Juneau AK) before settling in Payette Id for 50 years.

He was a retired Veteran serving in the Air Force, Coast Guard, Army reserve and finally the Idaho ANG where he retired as a Msgt.

After the death of his wife Cecilia in 2010 he found love again with Rose Karstrom. They were married on January 20, 2012 and were together until his death.

They spent many times together hunting, camping and going on adventures with friends.

He loved to fish, hunt, read, work on word search, camp and explore all the roads in Idaho whether they were fit for driving or not. He was a

lifetime member of the NRA and loved to fly he held a private pilot license until health reasons caused him to stop.

He loved his family and the Lord and was active in the CLF church.

He is survived by his wife Rose, his brother Tim, his 2 children David (Lori) and Sandra (Scott) and 5 stepchildren. He is also survived by many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. We will miss your loving and giving spirit.

A viewing will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Shaffer Jensen Memory Chapel with Funeral Service on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 11:00 am at Christian Life Fellowship Church in Ontario, Oregon 366 SE 5th Street.
