Diane Carroll Bishop
Jul 1, 1945 — Jun 26, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Diane Bishop, who departed this world peacefully at home on June 26, 2026, just shy of her 81st birthday, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Born on July 1, 1945, in Camden, New Jersey, Diane was a beacon of light and warmth for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Diane was the cherished daughter of the late John and Stephanie Carroll, who instilled in her a strong sense of compassion and family values. She carried these virtues throughout her life, enriching the lives of those around her with her kindness, intelligence, and unwavering support.
In 1967, Diane married, Joe Bishop, in the sunny embrace of Clearwater, Florida. Together, they spent 59 beautiful years as husband and wife, best friends, and partners in every sense. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love filled with shared joys, adventures, and mutual respect. Joe survives her, along with their son John and a devoted daughter, Cathy Stansell (Karl IV), who was the light of her life, her brother Bob Carroll (Beth), she was the proud grandmother to Karl V and Crissy, and the great-grandmother to Avaleigh and Charlotte.
Diane was a proud graduate of the University of Florida, where she earned her teaching degree. With a passion for learning and helping others, she dedicated her life to education and volunteer work, always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and she treated everyone she met with kindness and respect, never passing judgement.
She found immense joy in spending time with family and friends. Diane had a zest for life that was evident in her love for golfing, gardening, and exploring new and interesting places. Her laughter and humor brightened even the cloudiest of days.
A Mass for Diane will be held on July 18, 2026, at 11:00am at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, located at 31 Saint Gregory Drive, Bluffton SC 29907. The family invite all who knew Diane to join them in honoring her life. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice.
The Bishop family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Crescent Hospital and Loving Arms Health for their devoted care and support during Diane's final days. Diane's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her, and her legacy of kindness, love, and laughter will forever be cherished. May she rest in peace.
