Katherine Mcalhaney

Katherine (Kathy) Lousia McAlhaney, 65, of Beaufort, SC passed away on March 31, 2026. Kathy moved to Beaufort from California around 1964 and called it home ever since. She loved going to the beach to lounge in the sun & search for sharks teeth. If she wasn't there, she was spending the day with her girls and grandkids. Kathy spent her career in the food and beverage industry, and it’s likely she shared a meal and a smile with many of you over the years. She was a true “Chatty Kathy"; never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. If you were ever lucky enough to try her banana bread, you’d agree with us that it was the best around. She is survived by her parents, Lil and Rich Regan of Hilton Head Island; her three daughters, Lea Crosby (Doug), Kristen McAlhaney, and Stephanie McAlhaney; seven grandchildren: Dixie, Isabella, Amare, Ashton, Brantley, Ayden, and Aydrion; one brother, Tony Serrato (Ruth) of Hilton Head Island; one nephew, Trey Rice of Ridgeland; and one niece, Layla Serrato of Savannah. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alan Rice III, her granddaughter, Amya Fields; and her niece, Mia Serrato.  

A celebration of life will be held at 113 Chowan Creek Bluff, Lady's Island on May 9th at 1pm. Those who wish are invited to bring a covered dish to share, but your presence is more than enough.
